Master Teresa
Master Teresa and Grandmaster Wu

"The unsung heroine of this Institute is of course, Master Yeung. With her cheerful optimism, natural charm, welcoming manner and unruffled calm, she smoothes the way for all - while simultaneously performing dozens of tasks competently, and with such love and grace. It is a privilege to be in her presence. Master Wu and Master Yeung are a matchless pair who teach by example on all levels of their being. They are a perfect reflection of the principles of Qi Gong"
- Muriel, a student 75 years young

Master Yeung, now 50 years young, is a mother of 3 (ages 22, 17 and 16.) Prior to meeting Grandmaster Wu, Master Yeung never learned Qi Gong, Tai Chi or Kung Fu from any other teachers. However, she did always want to learn Qi Gong from someone experienced and credible. Grandmaster Wu inspired her to start learning and training.

Master Yeung and Grandmaster Wu

How Grandmaster Wu and Master Yeung met
Before learning Qi Gong, Yeung was a family friend of the Wu family. In June 1995, Master Wu retired and visited Canada to unite with family. Yeung was a family friend. Master Wu began to teach her within a few days of his arrival. They practiced in the home, at parks and later practiced in an office. She inspired her children, family and friends to learn Qi Gong. Something that started as just an interest, sparked into an invaluable practice.

Grandmaster Wu and Master Yeung saw the need to teach Qi Gong here in Canada. In 1997 January, Wu's Qi Gong & Tai Chi Fitness Centre was founded.

Besides being a student, Yeung was always the Master's assistant, secretary, interpreter, promoter and driver for all the years the Master was in Canada. The Grandmaster would sometimes say with joy that Yeung could do the equivalent of what 5 professional people would do for him in China. For leisure, Yeung also acted as Master Wu's English and driving teacher. Master Wu and Yeung never stopped learning from each other.

Yeung's Journey
Yeung was Master Wu's first ever student in North America, and is now his successor. She obtained official certification as a Qi Gong instructor from the Zhineng Qi Gong Association of China, rarely given to overseas students. Ever since June 1995, Yeung has been organizing and participating in all the classes and workshops taught to students in Canada and the States. She was fortunate to be able to participate in all the private and group general, specialized teachings for all disciplines and also in the instructor's program. (You can imagine how many times she sat in on the same teachings learning the same disciplines in all these 10 years of time!) The Master said, "every book has to be read deeply many times. When you read the book really well then you really understand. Learning Qi Gong is the same."

teaching together

Yeung has seen much improvement in her own health ever since practicing Qi Gong. Her immune system, headaches, energy levels and body pain have improved dramatically. The health of her family has also been improved greatly.

Yeung was able to watch how the Master performs external Qi healing for the private and group healing sessions on many varieties of diseases and injuries. She has seen so many people getting better with the application of Qi. The Master once said, "The way a student can learn from a Master cannot be better than this way. There has never been anyone who learned from him as closely as this." Yeung was very honoured to be able to learn from the Grandmaster so closely.

There is a Chinese story that says that when you help someone catch fish, you feed them once, but if you teach them how to fish, you feed them for a lifetime. A healer is also a teacher - You are not really helping anyone until you teach them something they can do for themselves and for others. Yeung encourages everyone to take the basic course of Qi Gong so they can empower themselves and learn how to make and collect Qi - so they can use the trained "Wu's Hunyuan Qi" to help heal their own ailments improving the quality of life.

Master Yeung will continue to move with the founding mission of Wu & Yeung™ Qi Gong Wellness Institute - to empower others to heal themselves and encourage everyone to extend the knowledge they have learnt to all other people. In the spring newsletter Yeung is quoted, "For all those who believe in Qi, there is a mission in front of all of us. We must spread the good news of Qi, to all those who cross our lives. We know that the Grandmaster will always be in our midst. Let's grow the Qi together!"

Master Yeung also presented the Tribute of Grandmaster Wu, recognizing the Master's successful life work to members of the World Organization of Natural Medicine.
Many of Yeung's family members and relatives also practice Qi Gong.
Here are their health improvements:

My younger daughter started to practice Qi Gong when she was only 6 years' old. After practicing, she does not have her occasional diarrhea especially after big meal.

My eldest daughter practiced qi gong when she was 10, alongside me when I started learning. She was asthmatic and needed to use a buffer occasionally for breathing. She could not participate in sports as she would cough a lot. She practiced Qi Gong with us and slowly stopped using the puffer. She now participates in sports regularly.

My 78 year old father's health and temperment has improved. He used to have a very hot temper. A few years ago, he was very dizzy and was admitted to the hospital. The doctors could not find out anything wrong with him, but knew that he was not making blood for some unknown reasons. He was sent home to wait. Then he started to practice Qi Gong. Since practicing, he no longer had a blood disorder. He still maintains a very good blood count. Qi Gong is now his hobby and is what he talks about all day.

As years go by, my family and I continue to experience more and more, getting the benefits of practicing Qi Gong. With my own eyes, I have seen many people improve their health after practicing Wu's styles. I hope more people will start practicing Qi Gong and receive the benefits for themselves like me.
